About Us

A small building, and that is the point

La Crescent Healthcare has 42 licensed beds. That is small enough that the people caring for your mother know her name, her routine and who to call when something changes — and it is the reason families tell us the building feels less like an institution than a place someone lives.

We provide skilled nursing and rehabilitation: nursing care around the clock, therapy on site, and the everyday things — meals, activities, laundry, a room that feels like yours — that decide whether a person is comfortable here.

How We Help

Two reasons people come to us

Some residents stay for a few weeks and go home. Others make this their home. The building is set up for both.

  • Short-term rehabilitation

After a hospital stay — a joint replacement, a fall, an illness — therapy works with you toward getting back to your own home, at a pace set by what you can actually do.

  • Long-term skilled nursing

Around-the-clock nursing care for people who need it every day, in a setting where the staff know your routines, your family and your preferences.

  • Care that is planned, not improvised

Every resident has a care plan built with them, their family and their physician, and it is revisited as things change rather than filed away.

The best way to judge a nursing home is to walk through it. Call us and we will arrange a time that suits you — no appointment is too short notice.
